Ship's Telegraph
Re-designed and re-engineered to replace a legacy system on a British Navy vessel, the telegraph is a form-fit-function replacement with enhanced capability.
Traditionally, a ship's telegraph is used to relay commands such as 'full ahead' from the bridge to the engine room.
Customer Requirement:
Coda Octopus Martech was commissioned to redesign a telegraph system which was robust, reliable and unambiguous, with enhanced levels of communication, feedback and fault tolerance.
Meeting the challenging needs of the Navy:
Coda Octopus Martech designed an answer-back telegraph system that looks and operates like the traditional system but with highly reliable LED illumination and microprocessor control.
The re-designed system was installed in place of the origianl system using the ship's existing wiring.
